Wow! Did not disappoint. I was rereading prior First Family books before this arrived.
I could have read in one sitting, but wanted the enjoyment to last. So, a few chapters to start the day.
Feel like I know Nick & Sam. They have an incredible and intriguing story. So like Sam to take a 1 day break with even the littles surprised to see her at home.
I am curious to see Sam's quirky feeling about the Veep okay out . Looking forward
to Holiday Cappuano love story.

Another Marie Force gem I had to binge read! She incorporates so many of the characters, such as Freddie and Tinkerbell, from the series in main storylines, but the lesser characters have their highlights as well: Brooke and Nate, Cam and Gigi, Malone, Sam's sisters, yada yada. This book isn't only about Nick and Sam; it's also about those people who are so essential to Nick and Sam BEING Nick and Sam.
If I hadn't read the prior books in the series (or in the Fatal series), I still would have known what was happening because Marie refreshes your memory with the underlying "facts" that are needed to know to make the book seem like a standalone (Nick's and Sam's history, Gonzo's drug problem, Stahl's antics, Ramsey's evil, Derek's wife's murder, etc.).
And the steam...well, the wait was worth it!
Highlights: will Nick's mom (finally?) get her comeuppance, Christine's monologue in the press conference, and Nick's ethical dilemma that shows just what a good man the President truly is. Sam's gut still churns about the VP!

The richly woven themes tell me that this one will become a best seller very quickly. Thank you Marie for a gripping storyline like no other!

Once again we are thrown into the action of the Metro PD, as an entire family is murdered in their own home. The White House if filled with treason by the Joint Chiefs and somehow Nick and Sam deal with it all. On top of that, Nick's mom has been arrested. So much to deal with in this story! Lots of angst, as well as humorous moments to relieve the tension. Loved the story and the joy that is reading a Marie Force book!

State of Denial had so many engrossing parts that once I started reading it I had to stay up all night to finish reading it! I love this series so much and all the characters are real to life and I feel like there are all part of my family! All of the storylines were relevant to the main storyline and every detail was resolved. Marie Force is my favorite author because of her tremendous writing talent.

Did not see Nick's situation in White House. Ironic that those were people willing to save the day in real life in past. Hope Nick listens to Sam's "gut" about VP, I have suspicion she's will be up to something,too.
